PRESIDENT'S LUNCH : 28th APRIL 2025

It was lovely to greet 23 members from 12 different golf clubs to the Presidents Lunch at Harpenden Common GC which was, as has been the tradition since the event started, held on the same day as the HLGCS Spring Meeting. 

The lunch was very good and there was lots of chatter with friends old and new around the  tables which had a good view of our lady members playing to the 18th green.

The weather was warm and sunny and my thanks go to the friendly staff who helped to make the day run smoothly.                                 Barbara Cooke, President

 

 

BRIDGE DRIVE : EAST HERTS GC - 10th FEBRUARY 2025

Just the day to stay indoors! Cold, wet and downright miserable.  Undeterred, East Herts played host to 48 players - a mixture of members and guests with the event hosted by Captain, Di Tass.

The catering team at East Herts kept our players well supplied with tea and coffee followed by a fabulous lunch of jacket potato, various fillings and salads when play broke around 12.45 pm.

 

Not a peep or a squeak was heard before or after lunch as players got down to business and concentrated on their games.  Suffice to say things got a little more animated over lunch when ladies enjoyed catching up with each other. Play recommenced and continued until 3pm when Sarah Brookes and Kath Williams beavered away checking the scoresheets to reveal the winners – thank you to both ladies for their help which was much appreciated.

Our Raffle on the day raised £185 for MELANOMA FOCUS.  Thanks to Mary Dearing for selling the tickets and to all who attended for their support.
